This is fantastic! Everything looks just amazing but a few things that capture my attention: All the flyaway hairs, I wish I could do this! Also, the texture of the skin on the neck, how it's smooth but not perfectly smooth, it just looks like skin actually looks. I also love the side of the hand with the tiny creases. The lighting on the left ear, which almost gives it a translucency. The whole work is just amazing.
I wish I could do work like this, but my hands just can't seem to make that shape.

Thanks a lot, yeah the flyaway hairs were annoying - it was tough to draw on a picture this small - ideally you wanna go big to be able to pull off thin detailed hairs, so it was tough to do in only a 9" by 12" drawing. Glad you appreciated the small details - those are what can bring a drawing to life.

What do you use the brushes for, if you don't mind me asking?

It helps smooth the graphite out to fill in the little white dots between the teeth of the paper, so it helps achieve smoother looking shading - especially when you combine it with carefully layered pencil work.

Thank you, yeah don't worry I suffer from the same thing haha. I think it's common for artists to lose patience especially when you're 80-90% finished - you just wanna get it done.
