Description Those of you who follow me on twitter or tumblr probably saw pictures of this on Wednesday, but there was a sudden storm that day and it rained SO hard that there were flash floods in Nagoya. This knocked the trains out for a while, but most importantly, it knocked out the Meitetsu, the line I take home. So, I decided to document this escapade, 'cause heck, might as well get SOMETHING out of it.

And yes, I do cry REALLY easily. I'm a terrible person to go see movies with ^_^;; I was stressed that I might not get home, which started the tears, and then she was nice to me, which made me cry harder. Ahah, she was so worried ^_^;; Poor lady. *spoiler* I got home, but as I got on the train, I ran into her again, and she was happy to see I was okay and heading home.

I got to leave early from work b/c my students canceled so I could et home. Sadly, the trains were already closed by then ^_^;; I might as well have stayed to teach them, it woulda beat wandering around.

Part 2 up next week!

Enjoy!

good grief that happened to me yesterday and i was exactly the same. The Trains were delayed for track work and kept being delayed, you can bet as soon as the sun started setting the water works started.

Its a bit of a relief im not the only one that cries easily. Glad you got home alright :3

Absolutely the worst!

We can take comfort in that there are many more who cry at the drop of a hat.

I got home safe and sound, thank goodness for them starting up buses.

Haha, you're so cute. I'm sure that was super stressful though =C Whenever I travel if I have to make a train or bus by a certain time I always feel stressed until I'm actually on said train or bus (even if I have plenty of time to make it).

I never got how they can have so much in Japan, considering they don't have very much land to work with.

TriaElf9 In reply to Memory627 [2013-09-09 01:25:41 +0000 UTC]

So much what exactly?

Building-wise, it's easy, they just build up. There are a lot of high-rises. Also, tons of apartment complexes.

Memory627 In reply to TriaElf9 [2013-09-09 01:52:16 +0000 UTC]

Well, buildings I guess can be built that way. But what about all the railroads and farmland? Or are there not as much as I think there are?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TriaElf9 In reply to Memory627 [2013-09-09 05:30:28 +0000 UTC]

There's a lot of train stuff, but they also have to have roads and things. Japan is small but it's not THAT small. The farm land is mostly in the country.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Memory627 In reply to TriaElf9 [2013-09-09 12:33:47 +0000 UTC]

And I'm guessing about half that farm land is rice paddies?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TriaElf9 In reply to Memory627 [2013-09-09 13:38:11 +0000 UTC]

well, my area is rice patties and green tea. Most of the actual farms are farther up north, where the land is more sparsely populated.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Memory627 In reply to TriaElf9 [2013-09-09 14:42:35 +0000 UTC]

Do they grow anything besides rice and tea?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TriaElf9 In reply to Memory627 [2013-09-10 00:06:29 +0000 UTC]

Of course! There are huge agricultural farms up in Hokkaido, there are all sorts of good farmed here. Stawberries are a booming business, not to mention all the veggies that are native to Japan.

Memory627 In reply to TriaElf9 [2013-09-10 01:09:22 +0000 UTC]

Veggies? I'm guessing you don't mean carrots or peas...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TriaElf9 In reply to Memory627 [2013-09-10 01:42:30 +0000 UTC]

No, they grow carrots here. They're much bigger. I assume they grow peas. they grow a lot of things. Just like, no raspberries.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Memory627 In reply to TriaElf9 [2013-09-10 02:50:00 +0000 UTC]

Where do they grow raspberries anyway?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TriaElf9 In reply to Memory627 [2013-09-10 04:08:18 +0000 UTC]

well, I've never seen one for sale, so not in Japan. I use to have them in my backyard when I was young in the states.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Memory627 In reply to TriaElf9 [2013-09-10 12:35:38 +0000 UTC]

Now I'm gonna be thinking about where raspberries grow all week...
