Meet Vlad III, aka Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula, the ruler of Wallachia in the 15th century and one of Romania's national heroes.
He was known for his terrifying acts against the invading Ottoman forces through impaling his enemies with wooden stakes.
And this inspired Bram Stoker to create the Transylvanian blood-sucking Count Dracula.
