"See, Moira, this one is you. And Tierry, you're the one going down across his face..."For a young girl to grow up as an Amazon--even if she is the daughter of an Amazon--she must recieve a blood sacrifice taken (violently) from her father. And though that is a cruel tradition, it need not be a deadly one. Indeed, a skilled Amazon can take the sacrifice without even leaving a mark! Of course, other Amazons will purposely leave a mark, just a souvenir of the father's time with her!
A couple things still bother me about this picture. First, the guy's expression was meant to convey mere annoyance, rather than any real anger. After all, how could he be mad at a woman like that? Especially since she's probably here to get a third child from him!
And, of course, the less said about the posing of the Amazon's arms, the better. They just never worked the way they should have....

Is she trying to get a third daughter from him or do some Amazons allow visiting privileges for fathers.

"Dad, did you get those scars from fighting mommy when you took her to make me?"

"If that's what happened when you made my big sister, why do you have a second scar on your face daddy?"
"Your mother is very good at sneaking in the forest, and I startle very easily."

Doh, ow, scars right on the face... not very nice of them. Anger seems a suitable expression if you ask me. I mean, it's one thing to draw blood - but from the size of those scars it seems more like an excessive punishment/branding ritual than anything else. You sure Amazons aren't being tracked down and wiped out by the powers that be?

Heh, not bad, except for her right arm, which probably needs a bit off work. I love his expression, and I wonder what his reaction would have been the morning after their first "date" when she told him what was required of him...
Also, the story I'm doing for you is coming along nicely. I've been busy lately (I've got exams coming up) but I'm almost two thirds of the way done.

well I believe there is a saying that goes women love men with scars or something (but now that I think about it she did that to mark him) =^.^= also we all have those moments when something doesn't feel right with our works of art (but still well done picture too)

never thought of that but only she know the true reason why he has that scar but you can always wonder too but then again that is on his head bet a different story under the clothing he has on
