Just wondering why you're coloring under the solid blacks with the flat color instead of under coloring with a rich black or do you do this and it's a different layer? How do you treat your color holds?

It absolutely does, thank you! That seems like a long process for each page, but I'm sure after you do it a dozen times, it gets less tedious and it goes by pretty quick. It would be awesome if you could just run a script for it. This method truly beats the way I used to have to color pages, that's for dang sure!

Yeah, prepping the lineart takes me all of 5 minutes adjusting and re-adjusting.
Laying in the flats takes me a handful of hours(sometimes more than it should).
Since I'm still fairly new to all of this, and only started comic coloring in January, the main color work usually takes a lot longer. Due in small part to the fact that I like to experiment with techniques, and have a tendency to over-render.

Thank you for this.
Are you planning to do a tutorial on flatting? It could be useful for many who want to start coloring. Tutorials take a lot of time and effort, but the comments and the thanks you get are very rewarding.

Considering the interest I'm getting, I think I'll need to set aside some time and create a breakdown of my process. I'm not the fastest yet, but I do have some tricks that will help.

Thank you. I may have to do a tutorial after all. I'm getting more than a few notes asking for it.
