Description
I'm itching to do a webcomic but admittedly this is my first genuine dive into the digital medium.
The story is set in a Bronze age fantasy world that's war with a species of telepathic fungi and it delves into psychedelic themes like one's sense of self, one's place in the universe and political-cultural themes like individuality vs. collectivism and the ongoing struggle between individual liberty and the common good.
The telepathic fungi took some original inspiration from the Zerg species in StarCraft, some Ps and Qs from the hivemind borg in Star Trek and minor influences from the neat biology in Jame's Cameron's Avatar.
This illustration depicts two of the story's main character's both of whom have been "incorporated" by a giant mushroom creature, growing in the pool of this cave. They share mental space or communicate telepathically or whatnot because they have become a single joined organism.
