I thought she was a human since she questioned "what" Bon Bon is... that's quite interesting...Β
The only problem is, that note on the first page make my worry that You make them lesbian... I really hope I'm wrong...

They will marry each other at some point too. The comic will unlikely to be made till that point (I'll be happy if I ever finish the next few chapters), but I'll hint to that.

Yeah, You hinted it quite visible. But still... Β marry!?
That's against the nature of marriage and love itself!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TriteBristle In reply to Lyokoheros [2016-11-19 19:38:44 +0000 UTC]

I would argue that marriage doesn't have any nature (as it's a made up convention).
And same-sex love is no different from mixed-sex love, both are pretty much just electrochemical reactions in people's (and talking cartoon horses') brains.

But I don't feel like arguing, so let's not. I'm fairly sure that we both have better things to do, so let's agree to disagree for now.

Lyokoheros In reply to TriteBristle [2016-11-19 21:56:21 +0000 UTC]

Arguing isn't this what I want too, but I must straighten some things.Β
Firstly marriage isn't just made up convention. The form of it or the word itself maybe, but not core of it. In the essence it is the seal on the eternal bond between woman an men(wife and husband), with purpose to create new family(and therefore divorce is also against nature of marriage). The way of being married differ across the time but it's core is as old as human civilization intself. It always exist.
And this what are You talking about love is just feeling of love, but love is much more than juast a feeling. It's relationship.Β
But when You are about this very sciantific way of explain, tell me what for is love - from purely scientific point of view?
The answer is easy: reproduction and extension of species.
(Of course I don't say it's only that, but from purely scientific point of view it is so.)
Therefor it's obvious that "same-sex love" is a disorder. And most scientific research prove it. There's no scientific research that prove homosexuality is normal/natural(the only reasearches which tried failed(like trying to prove its genetics but the compatibility of sexual orientation of monozygotic twins, when one was homo, was NOT HIGHER than about 52%(and in next attempts even lower!) - if it really would be about genetics then compatibility in case of people with the same DNA should be 100%(at least about)), and they have lots of methodological errors - excluding them as truly scientific) or harmless(quite opposite - negative effects of homosexuality are widely proven, even some pro-LGTB organizations partially admit that).Β
Of course political correctness stronlgy forbid to tell that homosexuality is not normal, not natural or in any way unmoral or harmfull. But political correctness isn't the same what truth. And truth is this what counts.Β

Of course You can think whatever You want, but it doesn't change what science tell about homosexuality or what the truth is. No matter who of us is right the fact is: opinions don't change facts.Β
That was all I wanted to say about it now I can agree to just stop this discussion and as You say "agree to disagree".Β
(But still I hope I stimulate You to think over it again)

TriteBristle In reply to Lyokoheros [2016-11-19 22:43:15 +0000 UTC]

Since you summed up your position on this matter, I'll do the same.

You seem to suggest that the problem mainly is that they cannot reproduce. Thus people who can't bear children shouldn't get married either (infertile, elderly, etc).
Look, the reproduction argument would have a slither of a point if there wouldn't be 7 billion people running around in an overpopulated earth. We aren't exactly in danger of extinction.

Let's say women marry each other. The newly formed family has at least one working uterus. There's quite a few ways to produce a child, e.g. sperm banks have been existed for decades now. There's also research for producing a fertilized egg from two eggs, see Kaguya-hime ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaguya_(… ). (And if you try to deem these methods as "unnatural", I'll have to remind you that computers, smart phones, desks, chairs, cars, glasses, clothes, and most things that surround you are unnatural.)

Another thing some people like to throw around is the "lack of a role model". Which is incorrect in my opinion, because kids don't necessarily have to choose a role model from their own family, that is if they aren't living in an environment totally insulated from the world; thus if they need a masculine role model they can find them e.g. in pop culture. Even if a kid has mixed-sex parents, they don't always look at them as someone to aspire to (e.g. deadbeat father/mother).
Pretty much the same goes for two men, though they will have to opt for adoption, as they lack uteri.

So the bottom line is, it's not "unmoral" or "harmful" as you said. And even if it was "unnatural" (same-sex affection has been observed for at least 1500 species in nature), we also concluded that unnatural things aren't bad by definition. And on the final note, same-sex marriage has been legal for quite a few countries and US states for years now, and neither the world nor mixed-sex marriage hasn't come to end yet. How shocking.

Now that I wrote my own piece, I'll indeed stop arguing and just agree to disagree. If you wish to further this, I'll just respond with links I'll google up on this matter, so I suggest we don't waste each others' time.
