Each artist is their own artist. My mom used to paint such lovely flowers that I envied her control of the brush. I do much more detailed a drawing than her that she hasn't been able to attain the equal of. If your mom tried to draw your characters (dragon age etc) I bet she would do them not as practiced as you do. That might be a test for you two. See how well she draws Fang?
