I never block ads, if you want a site to stay open like DA even viewing the ad helps them keep running.

I understand but as a website owner I don't just get $ from clicks but per 1000 ad views to. But I see why you would want to block some.

I own a website also and have tried ads on it and found them to be too obtrusive for my liking (and my users), so I stopped using them. BTW what is the URL of your website?

Download Privoxy, go into the Options of Opera, turn on HTTP proxies, done, no ads

Ok download this file , extract it and throw it in C:\Users\Brett\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera 11.00 alpha\ (you will have to use your username) overwrite the file thats there.

I would guess /home/[username]/.opera (keep in mind that . files and folders are hidden so you have to go to the edit menu and edit prefs in Nautilus)Replace [username] with your username.
If you have any problems i will write a script to do it for you.

well you can unhide by Ctrl-H so no problems there but does not work once i get it installed

Ok I have tested it all you have to do is unzip the file and put it in your /home/[username]/.opera/ folder and if opera is running restart it and it should work...
