I first learned about them in that book and then discovered they are a popular Irish fairy. He's sitting on the rock next to the elf maiden.Β

Holy moly, this is amazing!
I love every bit in this picture: the composition, the colors, the details...
The longer I look at this picture the more details I find: The cute owls on the branches, eyes on a tree trunk, fine brush strokes creating verdand trees on the background, the way the dress is folding on woman troll and the jewelry she is wearing...
Colors are awesome, they give such nostalgic feeling.
This picture creates such happy and peaceful moment that I would like to go there and hang out with those trolls for whole summer!

Trolls play almost all instruments, but they like the bagpipes best, because those can troll the shit out of anyone.

It's very charming, nice work. The harp blends into the tree just a bit though, that's the only critique that stands out, it's very well done. And it's great that it's "old timey".
