It's a technique called sublimation - its printing by heat and pressure. If you wanna know the science behind it, look it up =]

Nope, its fairly easy, but you have to be a very accurate person! And if you're not careful with the saw, you can accidentally cut yourself and then yes, a LOT of pain.
