LOL well 'twig-thin' people do exist, as do large people. I admit it's nice to see all kinds of shapes in characters because it gives variation, but a character being thin isn't unrealistic. I myself have another character who is bordering on anorexia, just the way she is!

If you're interested, this character is actually a part of my own original species called 'Dimebians', who take after almost every kind of animal ^^

In Dimebia skin colour isn't or note, but the breed/specie of the Dimebian is the society's source of discrimination and stereotyping (pretty much the ethnicity haha)
