Description Another time, specificly 92 years ago, this is how my friends may have been with me. This picture is wholly inspired by Sabaton's "The Price of a Mile", viewable at [link] .

Originally, I had simply drawn the Enfield with an Enfield, and figured I was done. But then I simply... Didn't stop. I offered a friend the opportunity to get into the pic for a small piece of the art-credit I owe him, so I guess that makes this pic a pseudo-commission.

Long comments on this piece are encouraged, because there's lots of little details all over the place that can be commented on. I'd love to hear about the accuracy of the minutae, because I did a lot of research for this picture. See what you can spot, and remark on it. It's worth noting that yes, the trenches were historicly dirtier than this, I'd have slung more mud around if not for my own limitations with the medium. Other than that, fair game.

I also encourage folks to spread this one around, because this is by far the best picture I have ever created. Share! Share! I'm a narcissistic bastard and I want people to see my most awesomest thing.

The medium is entirely pencils, mostly high-B stuff, on marker paper, which has a nice smooth texture.

When I look at this two things come to mind. The novel "Generals Die in Bed", and the album "The Final Cut" by Pink Floyd. Very well done.

It's got some very nice detail yeh And I like the scene and weapons, maybe just a bit more of a 'war' scene like barbed wire or tank traps. It's a good pic though nicely quaint!

Aheh, tis a WWI scene though. Tank traps did not exist at that time, because 1918, tanks themselves barely existed. The wire is nearby, though, yes. Think I may make just a few tweaks to this pic and update.
