Been really getting into Hellsing lately. I was especially awed by it when a character named Alucard pulled out a huge gun with "Jesus Christ is in Heaven" scrawled on it and started blasting away vampires. On top of that his character and motives are very mysterious (at least for me right now). Hope you enjoy this.This is my first colored picture on the computer EVER! So don't be 2 harsh, but I could really use suggestions and feedback on this one. Used a picture from Hellsing to draw the character but altered the pose and proportions to fit my drawling style. Going to do a few more like this 2 learn Corel Painter X a little better. Used the watercolor brush for this one.

(Yeah, I finally got one like you suggested 
I like how it's sharper in some places and discreetly smudged in others, making the face noticed first/the focal point due to that. However, itβs not looking like you did that on purpose; itβs careful. Was that an intention? I also like how itβs sort of discreetly smudged near the light. Itβs all very tasteful and creative.

Yeah actually thats on purpose. I drew my inked lines on the WACOM pretty solid, then after I finished coloring it I used an eraser on the inked pen layer to weaken some of the lines. You should check out the tutorial I linked to the piece. Has some great starting pointers. Look forward to your artwork with your new tablet 2 ^_^

Its actually very impressive for a first CG. Just watch out there--your lineart looks a little pixelated, probably from simply using the magic wand tool or something similar. Very good though.

I didn't crank the dpi up high enough before I posted this. I changed it and it looks fine now, would re-upload but I'm trying to finish a couple projects first. Wont fix my portfolio up till I have a good bit of stuff to fix. But the feedback on this is greatly appreciated ^_^

Hellsing does kick some serious ass, it's the definition of hardcore manga
It's suprising that this is your first colored picture, because you perfectly recreated Alucard! I'm very impredded, very very seriously.

Yeah you should have seen the first one I colored though. Looked like I was fighting a Llama while coloring it... not pretty. The trick seems to be layering in the colors with layers and reworking the main layer. In short a very encumbersome process if you don't know what you're doing. But towards the end I could probably re-color this in 1/3 the time.

Cool, you should try Corel Painter X or Open Canvas. Their both a lot more powerful and are specifically designed for drawling.
