This is the product of watching Ergo Proxy, eating too much Ramen, and listening to Brand New way too much. O and seeing some cool Death Cab for Cutie artwork with the crows. O and text is from a Greek poem that pretty much says "Nobody loves pain, for pain only truly loves itself."Scratch brush from Scully7491

Do you manipulate your own photos?

Usually I manipulate my own photos if I have something in my storage. If not I'll buy them off of sites likes dreamstime.com because it creates a bigger library (and I can ignore referencing) for me to use for my clients. Then theirs always sxc.hu which is a free stock gallery for random stuff (but quirky post rules).
Some of the photos I used for this piece were recreated because they didn't fit what I was looking for. So in short a large portion of this piece was recreated with my WACOM tablet to better suit my needs. So I guess the piece is all technically an original piece by me. All the shapes and textures were created using the original photoshop stock brushes and textures 2 ^_^

This is wonderful, the abstract look really pulls me in, kind of like an 'eye of the storm' type of feel

The poem Lorem Ipsum I based this on, actually says that "Nobody loves pain except for pain itself." The fence is actually supposed to represent being trapped by pain and the bird representing seeing it but free from it.

I'd really like to setup a site with flash for my artwork too. I need to spend my summer learning up on that i guess.

yeah I've kind of put flash on a back burner for a few weeks because of a contract. I need to go through this book I found on creating flash sites and stupid flash CS3 came out (they added another flash language >_<

yeah it has always been a pain, i know because i've tried it several times, only to get confused early in. Oddly enough i use maya frequently. =\
Though you may have to learn a new flash language, I would be inclined to believe that adobe will be making it better, i never thought macromedia was the greatest anyway. If nothing else, flash cs3 will make it easier for adobe junkies like me to get into it.
