There's almost a wind-swept quality in which you use the watercolors, which I'm guessing is what you were going for. Also, I like the fact that she is seemingly materializing through the color that seeps into and sweeps across the canvas from right to left. Her left eye (our right) is SUPERBLY painted and I honestly think it doesn't stick out too much (seeing as you subtly added color around it to start giving us the form of her face. However, the other eye looks a bit weird, but then again it's in shadow, so I guess that doesn't make much of a difference. I like how you used blue to shade her face, and how on the left side of the painting, other colors burst forth from the blue. Very beautiful!

I see this as the woman is looking at something that has filled her mind with emotions. The predominantly white side is the face the world sees, the colourful side is her thoughts running wild in her mind. The physical world sees her mostly unaffected facial expression but her mind is on fire with with a blaze of emotions.
I love your control of colour, looking at this and the original photo gives a good idea of what colours you saw when you produced it. I know you said that the scanner over saturated the blues and I have to agree. The more muted blue of your original photo suit the overall feel of the image.

I think this woman is like the moon, who has one visible, clear, even too well known face and one obscure, hidden and unknown. Who looks superficially, from the outside, it could be said that the woman is clean, she is brighting, is lighting, but every judgment made about her don't do it justice... Yet that's how she wants to look, that's how she wants to present herself outside. A woman without emotion, with a few little feelings that color his life
Yet nothing could be more false: inside her there is a mixture of emotions, ideas, hopes and dreams, concealed outside, but that fill her inner by true colors.
Oh You, who can see this woman, don't judge about her appearance, her true value is in what she hides in her heart: more You contemplate her in depth, more You will find harmony and beauty.

Well the first thing i thought about was the theory of the different modes of thought between the left and the right side of the brain. The theory goes that the left side of the brain is the logical side, while the right side is creative. I don't know if this was you intent, but the colours and the waves of these colours clearly symbolize a creative thought vs the black and white of the left side, logical and straight forward! This picture forcefully provokes thought from the viewer! The colours, powerful, blue cold, red hot and orange all emotions in between! Nice choice! Very well done,thought provoking and beautiful!

Not much I can say really, the painting it self speaks to you. Personally I like the use of abstract colors, from cool to warm colors, and light to dark, like there a side of her that can be just cold, and another that is open, which is the side of her that you see. I'm not sure if that is what the artist was attempting, but it is a great piece of art, and original by all means.

I attempted to paint something like this, but it didnt turn out right but, yours is very nice and i understand the emotions that went into the colors. Not just an art theme, but more of how the feelings are . I really like this one

Love the deep blue half of her face. Gives nice balance to the piece. The lines running through it make me think of either cracks or the sections of a butterfly's wings.
