Description I did this painting for a friend as a Hanukkah present. I'm banking that he's not gonna be checking my deviantart page anytime soon cuz I don't wanna wait to upload it!

My inspiration for the style was Arthur Rackham. I had never heard of him before I saw a special on him in ImagineFX 84. I was struck by the beautiful line work and faded storybook color palette. I knew I had to try it out! This was definitely a fun experiment. Also I used reference from photos I took of Miur Woods while I was vacationing in San Francisco.

Watercolor, ink, digital, 8X10

Great rendition of the opening scene! The perspective really heightens the sense of a looming presence (No pun intended). And I like the way the atmosphere obscures the Skull Kid to the point where I was almost spooked when I noticed him hiding way up in the trees. Overall, your spatial composition is engaging, successfully bringing the viewer into the experience.

THis is BRILLIANTLY done. I love the perspective, and the watercolors bring a very eerie yet soft feel to this. I love his face style too. It's very much your own, and well done!

Amazing image! I adore your style. Very unique to see this scene portrayed in more of a realistic look. Gives the gravity of the situation a greater affect.. The fact that this poor boy that just saved the world & NO ONE REMEMBERS, has not really a clue of what to do with himself now.. So he ventures off to find a friend, all alone in a lonely forest.. & that perspective is INCREDIBLE! The way the skull kid is so VAGUELY seen at the top corner sends chills. Great work!

Very unique, this is very different than most Zelda fanarts, i like it! This style is not done very often. This is probably one of the coolest things I've seen before. I have always liked fantasy and middle ages stuff and Zelda.

Zelda would be very interesting as a story book. I would always be happy to read that book to my nieces and nephews.
If you were to make this into a book and you had more pages to it with the same art style, I could hear this song playing as each page progressed: [link]

This is awesome, I love the colors and textures of this piece. Thsi brings me back man....Link riding on Epona with that very suspicious song...then ending up in a weird area in the lost woods, and so on. Its still such a wonde to me how Majora's Mask came out only 2 years after Ocarina of Time....
