Sorry for the re-upload - the previous submission was deleted after somebody reported it. Again This is so silly... >_>

If you have a problem with a deviation and the deviant in question doesn't seem to be a 10 y.o. kid who uses chatspeak and mistakes dA for Photobucket or MySpace, isn't it... more adult?... to try talking to that person first instead of reporting? Especially if the reason behind the report is a tiny Urahara image in one of the screenshots [well, at least that's what I suspect]? I'd risk saying that it's something personal. And I have my suspicions as to who reported me in the first place.

Anyways, here it is again Dear haters, I dare you to find something to report now.

--------------------------------

If there are any parts you find unclear, please don’t hesitate to comment. I’ll try to explain it for you once again in different words, if possible.

Also, I’ll be more than happy to see your own vectors, made with the help of this tutorial. ^.^

Last but not least, big thanks again to =Washu-M for letting me use one of her artworks

Very useful. Thank you Btw, I think using clipping masks is the easiest way to make shadows.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! for this wonderful tutorial of yours.

I've been using PowerPoint to make stuff for ages and its shape tool is kind of like Photoshops, but even with the similarities, there's still a lot of stuff that I haven't learned about vectoring in Photoshop and I'm glad to say I learned quite a lot from your tutorial.

Again, thanks!

Hi
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5 version to create a vector image. I have followed your instructions for making a line art and it has turned out fine. But soon as I change the pen tool settings from paths to shapes my line art disappears. I don't know why this happens. I have noticed in one of your screenshots you have a list of images underneath layer 1 where you have created your line art. It doesn't show that in my layers. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong

THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!

One question: On the shape layer you're working on, should the path line still be there?

I'm not sure if I understand you xD By path line you mean here...?

BlahMan179 In reply to tsukishoujo [2009-09-04 14:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Nvm, I was being stupid, I figured it out.

Like, when you hold conrol and click on a blank part of the canvas, there's that thin line around the edge from where you laid the shape with the pen tool.

I guess it's supposed to stay there XP.

Thanks anyways.

Oh, check my profile for the pic I made using your tuts.

I need some help .__.;;

I change the pen tool settings to shape layers and I traced the edges and I don't see any colors at all.

Hmmm can you take a screencap [but choose the pen tool first, so I can see all the settings] and link it to me somehow? Maybe if I can see the whole window, I'll be able to tell what's the problem

Cześć

Tu jest ten tutorial:

[link]

I have a problem. Or maybe I'm just stupid. I've used the vexel method and now when I try to color it, okay, I make a new layer and start tracing the edges, but there is no color. o_o;; *can't explain properly*

tsukishoujo In reply to xLlamax [2009-05-12 20:50:20 +0000 UTC]

Have you changed pen tool settings from paths to shape layers? You have to change it before you start coloring

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xLlamax In reply to tsukishoujo [2009-05-13 13:58:42 +0000 UTC]

I know, I changed it. But nothing happens.

No wait, I understand what I did wrong. Nevermind.

Yeah, I know and that hypocrisy really annoys me ;/ 9 in 10 realistic vector tutorials have a copyrighted photo in them, yet nobody complains about that >_<

Hi there!! How're ya doin'? I missed ya

Anyway thanks for this!! I know I won't be able to do much but I'm totally gonna try this when I'll have some time (you know... I attempted at a colouring once on my own with Photoshop without a single clue on what I should've done, so I ended up trying anything and the result... well you can imagine )

Thanks thanks, I looked at this kinda randomly but now I'll read it slow and nice

First of all, I'm sorry for such a late reply I'm not much around dA these days, with my laptop crashing twice and I got lazy with replying on comments xD

I fine and I hope same goes for you ^^

Photoshop is a great program if you know the basics xD But it can be really frustating for a beginner to try to figure out what the numerous options actually do

master-of-words In reply to tsukishoujo [2009-04-08 15:25:35 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry, it's okay

Sorry if I bother but I wanted to ask if you had already started the kiriban pic, I'm not trying to say you should hurry nor stuff, just curious

tsukishoujo In reply to master-of-words [2009-05-03 11:33:08 +0000 UTC]

First of all, sorry for such a late reply If you've been wondering why I'm not uploading anything for so long, it's because my laptop crashed again right after I got it back from repair service... You may remember my journal about it crashing for the first time back in... February I think? So yeah, after the hard drive, next time it was power system ;/ It's been two months and I still don't have it back T___T This time the hard drive is okay, but I don't have access to all the files ;/ The repairs are pretty expensive and my father refused to pay additional fee for recovering the files.

So the answer is yes, I started working on your kiriban as soon as I got my laptop back from the first repair... and one week after that it crashed again. But now it's just two more weeks and I'm finally getting it back, for good I hope. That's when I can start working on your kiriban again

Again, I'm sorry for making you wait for so long I remember promising you it'll be done by January >_> I fail at life

master-of-words In reply to tsukishoujo [2009-05-07 19:05:41 +0000 UTC]

Forgive me too for the late reply but I've been back just today after ten fucking days of hospitalization -______-

I understand how you feel when everything breaks down X_X

Don't worry about the wait, I'm pretty much the impatient type but it's not like I get mad at people if I like them <3

You fail at life?
Well if it's 'cause of the pic then it's not true.
If you really think it then you're definitely not the only one... -_______-

P.S. That you started the pic means that you've already drawn a part of it? I'm really curios about a WIP And thnx again

Yes, I already have like 3/4 of the lineart I got my laptop and all the files back yesterday, I'll resume working on your kiriban soon I don't want to make you wait another 5 months... I'll note you with the finished lineart if you want I personally prefer suprises, but it's up to you xD

Hiya, sorry for late reply!! Gomen gomen

Let's go for the surprise but, when you're done even with the colouring and you post it, could you let me see both the lineart and the wip as promised? Please

C'ya

I can even make screenshots as I vector it, and show you a step-by-step version xD I hope I'll finish it by the end of next week. I'm still trying to catch up with everything I had to resign from during my college finals >_> *sigh* But I promise it'll be as epic as I can xD

light and shadow are dependant on where the light is comming from and where the subject is facing in relation to the light source

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tsukishoujo In reply to a1984niceguy [2009-03-06 23:42:17 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I know that That's what all the tutorials say after all xD But it's just the theory and because the light source is different for each artwork, it's not something that can be explained once and applied on every image in exactly the same way. That's why I'm not bothering to start explanation
