This is the first of the very late Christmas/early New Years gifts! I got a little distracted with preparing for Christmas that I forgot to make gifts for the people I love/look up to, so here they are!
This one goes to RhynoBullraq , who has poured his blessings on me ever since I was a striving artist searching for a style to call my own.
A couple years ago my journey began by copying the WoF dragons in the books, like I imagine most of us did. But eventually I began to dislike my style (for MudWings in particular) and wanted to try something new. I had seen Rhyno's work around and thought, what if I copied one of his MudWings? Just to get a better sense of how they should look. I loved how he drew them and so I found a picture of Earthquake and copied it. Don't worry, I did credit Rhyno and the character, I just wanted to improve and that's how my new style started.
Now, this was all on Wattpad, the writing website. I basically started my art/writing there and eventually moved here about a year and a half ago. I had a style very similar to Rhyno's for a while (which I regret, I hate being seen as someone who used to be a "thief" or something, even though I did credit him) and I still do a little, but it has changed. I have evolved it into something of my own, and Rhyno has personally said that he's OK with what I've done.
During my new style development (near the beginning, really), I got a message saying that Rhyno had drew something for me, and he even used his old Wattpad account to comment on my page linking it.
That day was one of the best days on social media. I thought that I would just be one of those people who tried their entire life but never reached anything special, I thought that I would be just another person online, but when the famous, talented, incredible RhynoBullraq had drew something for me? That all changed. I had a boost of confidence. I knew that I could do it, whatever my desire was, I could reach that goal. Rhyno helped me in a way he probably didn't know at the time, or even now, but I always looked at that drawing knowing that he had done it out of the kindness of his heart and that I was worth it. And I haven't changed my profile picture from that drawing until now, when Rhyno drew me another gift on Christmas. I think I almost cried when I read what he said about me, but that just goes to show what kind of amazing person he is.
Rhyno, I cannot express how grateful I am to have you in my life. You've done so much for me, from inspiring me to encouraging me to go on. Just knowing that you're there for this community of people is incredible, because we don't deserve someone like you. Yet, you are here, and I think we need to recognize how amazing that is. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, and please enjoy this drawing of Eranomous.
And now for the other people, this year I feel like I've gotten to where I wanted to be. I'll keep striving to improve, but I have passed the point of "just another person on the internet" and I have a community of friends and followers. Those people are you guys, the ones who are reading this right now. You have made me able to reach my goal. The support I've had, the friends I've made, it all adds up to one big, happy dragon named Sunbeam. I couldn't have done it without you, and I wish I could give all 506 of you a gift.
Sadly, I can't. As much as I'd like to. But I will be posting a few more sketches for some of the people who have been there for me.

I used a 0.7 mechanical pencil, a Micron pen, a Prismacolor pencil, and Copic Sketch markers

P.S. I wrote this non-stop, and I am not going to read it again or edit it, because I feel like that would take away the authentic, raw version of these words. So, if there are any grammar mistakes or weird sentences, I'm sorry, it's just how I write I guess.
