Well it's not a matter of having a critic or not, xD just that the critique is written fairly. Glad to hear you liked the art though~<3

I feel that the rating is a little too high, but I do say all are fair just so others can judge for me xD Glad to hear you liked it enough to critique though!

Not that I hated this episode or anything, but I felt it was a bit "marysue-ish"? Why wasn't this bond treated more seriously? Why did she have to glorify sports, of all things (made her sound REALLY off)?
Like he said, why didn't he think of this the entire time??? Couldn't he have at least done it on a special day like his birthday or a holiday instead of out of nowhere?
I'm so disappointed that I have this AU headcanon that when he goes to heaven, she doesn't remember spending time with him. (Although, how could she have remembered the tape???? Did he want her to remember the Tape? She sounded like a pre-programmed robot in this episode.)

Well she glorified sports because steven wanted to see the part of her that found beauty in everything, admittedly it was cringey as she was describing football, but that was all just Steven's interpretation of what she would have said. As for the seriousness of the bond it's just plain and simple, Steven yearned for a mother's love, and just wanted to play with Rose. Just about any child would want to play with their parents.
With this second line i'm kinda confused if you saw the beginning of the episode at all. Steven saw right in front of him how distressed Connie was about her mom, and simply wondered if it was normal for children to become worried over their mother. Not to mention Connie and her mom basically just had a meaningful drama moment in front of Steven causing more confliction in his emotions
AU set aside, when you're angry you simply yell out and lash out whatever is on your mind, then after being angry don't you normally think about the horrible things you said? Steven thought about his words as soon as he said them (since y'know. 12 minute episodes) and began regretting his words because he had pretty much just insulted his mother and her intentions without knowing what Rose's real intentions were. Steven just needed to cope and explain to himself why he was wrong by bringing up as much evidence to himself that his mother loved him in order to get through the conflict. And it's only natural she would sound like a pre-programmed robot. The fake Connie also sounded like a "Pre-programmed Robot"

Well, I guess the first part came out awkward... maybe I'm not that disappointed about the episode.
To sum it up, I just honestly feel like this episode was watered down from they way I thought they pictured her at the beginning. Then again, it could simply be that due to CN's censorship (which is not the Crewniverse's fault). It was basically "solving the mysteries" of Gravity Falls if you will. While we all love knew this was probably coming at some point, I was expecting something like this towards the end of the series. Either that or more like a "one-time-shot" kinda thing. I hope it becomes the latter.Β
I felt that both characters were a bit out of character, but I'm just gonna leave that up to my personal tastes.
Simply because I decide to make an AU out of frustration doesn't make me a horrible person does it? The ironic thing is, I'm still watching it and continue to support the show for what it is. Who knows, maybe that AU was a horrible idea after all and needs to be thrown out the window. After all, it is called an alternate universe for a reason.Β
Also, I meant the line "I should've done this years ago". I interpreted his as coming in whenever he wanted. Unless it was relating to wanting to know the truth (which could have), I don't see this as such a bad thing other than making a gateway that would nearly destroy the boundaries between their relationship and make it much less important.
