Description
Doodle in pchat, decided to practise with my CG
Inspired from a Japanese site that featured many beautiful works with high contrast in colour shown to me by ~tofuburgers *u* I tried to stray more away from the SUPER SHINY ANIMU style I produced in my previous Gintama pic orz; I'm hoping to develop a more mature style by the end of this year..
I don't know what the point of this was.. OTZ

hmm, I think everything looks good already, though maybe his ear is a bit too low? ears are usually around eye level. (hiikata looks like he's looking down, so the ear is at a slant)

Yeah I was on break for 2 weeks and drew as much as I could (time spent mostly on pchatting lol;; ) and my Dad took my tablet away since he said it distracts me
He usually does that when I'm back at school anyway

=u=; It's not that there's something "wrong" with drawing the other way, it's just an anime style, simple as that, and I want to be able to grow out of that and produce pictures that are more than what you normally see in manga/anime

Oh wow, I was going to comment on the high contrast, until I read a little further in your description. 
As for a more mature style, I suppose you could say the high contrast is more "mature", since you'd see a lot of that in noir-like work, which in general, could be considered more "mature". I don't know. It depends on what you mean by mature. I'd say your best bet, is to look at art from various different artists and pay attention to the story and genre to get a feel for mature. If I'm making any sense at all.

By mature I mean growing out of the generic, hard anime style you see a lot on dA and build off less anime and beautiful feel. I'll be sure to keep my eye out for more inspiration.

Well I love kiDChan, Toonikun, 0KiWi0 and others that do not have a dA, their styles are very unique and are beautiful, also their CG and concepts in their pictures. I want to be able to be successful at that one day
