I did it for January, now here are the Nicktoons that have turned one year older in the past month of February.

Airing first on the 17th in the year of 2014, the rather infamous animated show known as Breadwinners is now 7 years old. It feels like just yesterday this was being decried as the lowest point in Nickelodeon's history and dubbed one of the worst cartoons in history. Even to this day it sits as the lowest rated Nicktoon on imdb with a 2.5 (though review sites in general don't seem all too reliable nowadays). Looking back on it I will say that, while it isn't a show I'd drop everything and go out of my way to watch, it was rather unique and memorable with its unorthodox visual direction and interesting premise.

A mere two days after that marks 14 years since the premiere of El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera on the 19th in 2007. This show was highly acclaimed for its unique art style and major contribution to introducing mexican culture to western audiences, though it was sadly one of those shows that only lasted one season. I remember seeing a fair amount of episodes a few years back, but nowadays its somewhat hard to be able to watch this show legally as DVD sales are sparse and region locked. The creator, Jorge Gutierrez, however has thankfully been doing good in spite of this, getting to direct an animated featured called The Book of Life and supposedly now working on a project with Netflix.

Yet another two days after that, the 21st of this month gave way to the birth of what I'd honestly consider two of the best series to come out of Nickelodeon Animation studios.

Many of you who watch me have probably already heard me talk about Glitch Techs. It premiered on Netflix last year and I've eagerly waiting and clamouring for more episodes to be produced. This show is a brilliant love letter to gaming culture and has so much more potential for engaging storylines. I have no intention of giving up talking about this show any time soon.

Finally there's Avatar: The Last Airbender, now 16 years old. Undoubtedly the most daring show Nickelodeon has ever produced with its themes of war, differing cultures, and eastern philosophy. I don't even know if any of my own words could even do justice in describing how much of a big deal this series is for animation as a medium. Very recently it was announced that a new studio with the show's creators had been opened so that more stories could be told to further expand the universe. Time will tell if this ends up panning out well, but even still I think there's not much doubt that the original Avatar series shall continue to stay a cut above the rest in the hearts of many.
