Page from the ongoing comic book: Pagans, book three. Finland is a land filled with rivers and lakes, so it should be the perfect place to raid with longships. But there are some things a viking chief should recognize:
1. The population is scattered around a wast wooden area, and even though most of the population is around the lakes and rivers, it's really hard to navigate around the labyrinth of water routes without a guide.
2. Most of the lakes are full of seaweed, which makes them ideal for ambushes with small and low-profile boats as well as traps like spikes on the lake bottom etc.
3. Relatively poor inhabitants, who fight like madmen and without mercy.
4. In the comic they are led by Ari Halikko, a vicious war-chief, who has earned a harsh reputation along the eastern river roads.

When Ivarr the raven, a known warrior and berserker, assembles an army of Swedes, Finns from the coast and viking chiefs all around the Baltic sea, led by the famous warriors from Jomsborg to attack the lands of Häme, it will be a nasty little war.
