All of Equestria is both. It is a female dominated society where men are all practically dead. There is only like... five of them in all of Ponyville.

That has to be the most sexist, short sighted, misguided and naΓ―ve view of Equestria society I've ever heard.
A lack of males in the TV show doesn't automatically mean that there are no stallions, the makers of the show have not implied or suggested that Equestria is a female dominated society, I've seen enough stallions in all three seasons to confirm it.
There are straight ponies in Equestria not just lesbians, there are enough stallions to go around, sure there are MLP fan fics that say that there are more mares than stallions but that's what the writer thinks, not all Equestrias in the multiverse are the same, one might have more females than males, another might be balanced.
And don't you DARE use magic as an excuse for same sex reproduction, a female dominated society will have an empty misery.

Not at all, it is interesting to think about it in that kind of parallel to our own past. Considering pretty much every position of power is female, save for Shining Armour, it actually can be rather well assumed. Of course it is a show for girls, so it is kind of to be expected, but still.
The rest seems to be a rant about how I think everypony is a lesbian, but I don't even see how that is the point. The part about there being only five guys was a joke, but still there is a higher amount of females to males over all.
P.S. Magic would totally allow for same sex reproduction, or the magic of love. Which ever.

Hmmm, sorry to butt in but think of OUR society for a moment, just because there are more males in leadership and positions of power does not mean there are more males than females.(except in china...)

That is a fair point, I think technically there is a ratio of about 55% girls to 45% guys.
But again, that part was a joke. The female dominated society comes from who holds what positions of power. Much like how a tribe of all women, with a single male rule can be seen as male dominated.

That is good, name calling isn't a debate.
I have my doubts, unless they get into something with dating and stuff, we probably won't see much. But I don't really mind. We can just assume their gender ratios are similar to our own, as much as I like to joke that it isn't.

No, to Hasbro it's all about ponies. Lauren Faust made it about friendship. To correct your statement: the show is called, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, not My Little Pony: Friendship is Exclusive to Ponies. It really disgusts me when people thing in such a superficial way (this not being one of those moments, obviously).
