This is an incredibly wonderful piece. I believe that your pen doodles have great potential - I would consider painting pieces like this in flat applications of cel paint (which is intentionally made to render very flat, machine-smooth color), carefully applied to have a sort of commercial precision and sheen - a technique used by local artist Dora Drimalas: [link] [link] [link] [link] . I'm not a huge fan of her work, but I've seen it in person, and it's incredible to see the precise lines and absolutely flat color applied to such free and whimsical subject matter. I suggest this especially because you've got a great sense of color, which could shine well in this format and allow your pieces to feel deliciously candy-coated (especially if you omitted all line, or at least all dark/black line).
