The perspective in this is brilliant, and so is the colouring. Such an awesome work!

yes, i love the way you put the point of view and shadow placement of where the candle is, gives it that more mystery feel just like the book :3

Nicely done, I like the bright colours in contrast to the rather dark mood of the poem. The low and slightly exaggerated perspective also makes it interesting, giving it a bit of a quirky feel, and I like the lighting from the lantern casting the long shadows on the objects in the room.

"And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain..."

Purple curtains wouldn't go too well with that wall colour, I think. Lovely piece though!

The wall is likely white or cream. It just looks blue in the dim light. What can I say? I like to make things colorful... which I admit doesn't lend itself well to Poe, but there you have it!
Thank you for taking the time to comment. Always appreciated.

As opposed to a fake poem?
Just kidding. I loved that episode. Thanks for commenting!

Poe wrote a lot of great stuff, and it's all in the public domain and available online totally for free. Here is wikipedia's article on The Raven (includes the full poem, analysis and list of all the parodies.) [link]

Interesting...........the raven is purple and the wife in the portrait looks like a mean old hag...........I guess he has already gone nuts.?

Yeah, that's more to do with my personal style more than anything. I never use black paint.
I was trying to make her look disaproving, frowning down at him. That, together with the shadows... I wanted him to look oppressed, further adding to his dispair and madness.
Thanks so much for your comments!
