From one of my novels, based on Dungeons & Dragons. Pilool the kuo-toa high whip receives a vision from her deity Blibdoolpoolp revealing the origin and destiny of the kuo-toa race. In ancient days they ruled the shores of the World Above, but were attacked by the surface races and pushed into the sea, their great temples destroyed. They warred with the aquatic races for an age as well, and were eventually driven underground, to the Underdark. Blibdoolpoolp reveals to Pilool that she will give her power over all crustaceans, and with this army she will conquer the Underdark, the great seas, and even the shores of the Sunbaked Lands and restore the kuo-toa race to their rightful place of dominance.
