this feels weirdly significant seeing how i'm kind of back to drawing the same kind of stuff i would at the beginning of the decade. i've had a strange little return to form just over the past few months. it's not to say that i'm living in the past or anything but every so often i'd go back and look at my old art and it all still resonated with me a lot. i knew what i was about back then. so i'm trying to refocus on that now. the years in which i was focused on Avery and Matt feels like strange divergence i'm almost kind of sad to say (sad because i know a lot of people really enjoyed them, and i myself have been slowly coming to terms with the reality that i don't think i can/want to draw them anymore). i was still doing what i felt passionate about but the amount i've changed over all these years is just massive and i'm not the kind of person i was when i was so invested in their story anymore. i'm not the kind of person i was when i was first writing my fursona at the beginning of the decade either. i'm trying to pull from every part of my past going forward because i think there's something valuable in all of it but overall what all of my past artistic pre-occupations represent just don't suit me anymore. both the story with my old fursona and the story of Avery and Matt were a little deluded if you ask me. not that i want to detach myself from fantasy, i just want a clearer dichotomy between fantasy and reality.
i've been on this site for over 10 years, that's crazy. the support of my friends on here used to mean the world to me. i won't forget them
