Reference used on the background.On this page: Blackwood fights through the briar patch at the castle gates and runs up the path, only to find Casablancas lying on the ground, deathly pale and with some curious bite marks on his neck....

Anyway, umm, I have to have it done before June so that I have it for my next comic convention...which technically means I should've started work sometime back in November...heh heh heh...anyway, Dead Little Princes is only supposed to be ten pages and I was going to finish that first but with the way people keep asking me about The Industry, I'm starting to think about doing it simultaneously with DLP.

...I'm applying them digitally, for the most part--the plaid tone I did manually. I want to apply them manually but I'm afraid of getting that moire effect when I scan and resize them. But they're real tone scanned in and then superimposed on the page.

I did want to tell you about a very good movie I'd watched last night called "Art School Confidential." It's the most accurate portrayal of art school life I'd ever seen; it's scary close. I was kinda weepy and nostalgic, which was exacerbated by my good friend Captain Morgan.

Ha ha ha ha! You crazy. One of my other friends actually invited me to go see that when it was out in theaters, but I...had work as usual so I never got to see it.
Anyway, life is treating me a little better...I'm being stalked by this guy I used to go to school with, he's really sketchy and I'm pretty much terrified of him, BUT on the other hand, it makes for some pretty hilarious stories, which I'll tell you sometime. I'm getting a little more time off from work now because all the college kids are home, but apparently things are going to go back to the way they were once everybody goes back. Ughhhhh~

I have a lot of ridiculous anecdotes from it, but I think the best one is that when he came after me in November, I finally tried making up a fake boyfriend to get him off my case; I didn't think he would really go for it, but he totally fell for it and every time he comes after me the first words out of his mouth are, "So how's your boyfriend?!?!?!" All my friends are in on it too, so even when he asks about my "boyfriend" they tell him I'm out with him, ha ha ha.
But, yeah, I have considered going to the authorities and probably still will if he hasn't left me alone in a couple of months.

In my opinion: it's nicer to be mean; sometimes telling someone off and being the bad guy is actually being the good guy in the long run.

...Oh. Oh, yeah, well that's very true. I tried to draw him smiling once and that didn't work out at all. So, okay, yes, I see your point. Ha ha ha.
The way I look at the eyes is, they're supposed to me more realistically shaped eyes (as opposed to an anime eye) but without pupils. And then I draw a big lopsided circle around each one--the top is where the eyebrow would be (no eyebrows though) and the bottom is supposed to sort of reach the cheekbone. Er, I doubt that helps, but maaaybe...? Ha ha.
