I find it a very sweet comic. When will page five be released?

Nooo...it's not too detailed of a retelling lol. Basically I thought up the story and then fit names from Romeo and Juliet to my characters, as opposed to strictly following the cast and plot of the original. Although, this is only 4 pages so if I ever decided to make a longer version, I would probably match it more carefully lololol.

Ahaaa. I hope so; Mercutio is the coolest character in the play.

Awesome idea.
And I love the way you shade. I also really like the way you drew Juliet's hands. Hands = so hard to draw.

Are you inking this entirely on the comp?

Noo I always ink by hand. All of the lineart is hand-drawn, the greys are done on the computer tho.

I think he was her cousin, but I didn't match it up too carefully, ha ha ha.

Its looking really nice! The black silhouette thing works well enough for the swamp background.
I wonder how the tones will reproduce though... the small amount of gray in the first issue came out pretty grainy.

its kind of weird how the schools copier can do color just fine, but then when somethings grayscale its like "HA, FUCK THAT. YOU'RE A GRAINY MESS NOW."

Ugh laaaame. I ran some backup copies of Ectoplasm on B&W copiers and a couple people had done entries with flat greys instead of dot tone, so I was worried...but they printed out 100% fine (this was at a UPS). I was going to do dot tones on this but the digital ones looked like shit and I didn't (don't) have time to lay real tones or scan real tones and cut them in Photoshop...next time.... u_u
I should know better than to use flats, tho, so I will suck it up if they don't work.... The storyboards have a decent black/white balance so it'll be okay without shading, just not as cool.

I dunno if it helps, but I found a tutorial for converting flat tones to halftones -> [link] I've tried it out once or twice and it looks good digitally, but I dont know about how it reproduces.

Twelfthgecko In reply to MikeLuckas [2009-06-20 04:12:38 +0000 UTC]
Oh shit! That looks really helpful! Thank you! I wondered if there was a way to do it with the halftone filter in Ps but I figured it wouldn't render correctly so I never even tried. lol. I'll give that a shot.... :3

MikeLuckas In reply to Twelfthgecko [2009-06-20 04:21:07 +0000 UTC]
haha, the regular halftone filter is awful. Even if this way doesn't reproduce any better, it'll still be much better looking.

Twelfthgecko In reply to MikeLuckas [2009-06-20 04:37:39 +0000 UTC]
AWWRIGHT I gave it a shot and it worked decently...I think I have to play with the dot size a little because they're microscopic so far tho lol. Still I'm sure this will at least save it from photocopier disasters of epic Titanic proportions lololol. Thank you dude, you are a lifesaver 8D

MikeLuckas In reply to Twelfthgecko [2009-06-20 05:16:51 +0000 UTC]
No problem! I think you can tweak the dot size in that one menu
