I'm probably a terrible person for putting that on all my avatars, but they're mine. And I don't want random people taking them. Not that anyone would really want them anyway.
Because of his gloves and boots, this one doesn't show up that well on light colored backgrounds...

I understand why you don't want anyone to use this, because you worked hard on it. But, you really have no right to tell someone they can't use it. They can. And the reason being, you do not own Danny Phantom. I reported someone for using one of the icons that I made, and I got a response from an admin saying that even if you created the image, the fact that you do not own the character does not give you the right to prohibit other people from using it. I'm just saying. Well anyways, I will not use it only to respect you, because I know how aggravating it is. And this icon is absolutely adorable, I will fave

Was it on this website? If so, you must have just gotten a bad administrator. Because deviantART makes it quite clear (several times) in their FAQ that the submitter of the artwork always owns the individual image. And whereas I might not have a strict legal defense, dA does respect my ownership of the image. Otherwise, they wouldn't take down any stolen artworks that displayed copyrighted characters. And, as I've been there dozens of times to see it happen, I know for a fact that they do take down stolen fanart, every time without fail.
Not to mention that under US law (I see you're Spanish), the original creator holds the copyright, but they don't own- and could not use- my picture, even though they own the character within it. They could have it taken down if they wanted, but they don't own it. Of course, I don't have sole ownership either. Which sort of brings me back to deviantART's FAQ, regarding their section on avatars where they expressly state, "If you have elected to use a copyrighted work (in whole or in part) created by another creative person then you should obtain their permission otherwise the avatar will be removed at the request of the copyright owner." And I do, at least in some small part, own my avatars. Otherwise art thieves would rule the internet, and no one would post anything anymore. So if an administrator told you they couldn't take down an avatar of yours someone was stealing, I'd file a claim again and hope for a different person to respond.
Sorry. Didn't mean for that to sound like I was attacking you or something. I just wanted to make sure that anyone who stumbles across the comments section knows just how serious I am about this.
