I agree. I think it would have made more sense for her to an alternate form of Rosalina or something. I've always thought of the Cosmic spirit to be that way anyway.

Actually, Rosalina and Cosmic Spirit are to different characters

they are not, obviously it doens't really say it in the game but with the voice and the shape is enaugh to know that is really Rosalina but using some whay of comunication with her powers

Umm, sorry, but the Cosmic Spirit is her own character. Rosalina, just like Mario and Luigi, each have a cosmetic counterpart in the Galaxy games(Cosmic Mario and Cosmic Luigi).

But hey! Rosalina is practically the goddess in the Mario series, so whose to say see can't really do it.
