Description
Translated to "New Wave"Inspired by Hokusai's "The Great Wave"
Here we go! That whole style change / experimentation. It's not "traditional" traditional Oriental art because it's digital. xD But it's perfect that I chose to do an art trade with ~A-Xofia with something inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha 'cause it led me to this.
I tried combining different styles and techniques in this little piece, with smooth vector-like touches, such as the lips. I wanted to keep the wave inside the face really 2-D, and the rest outside more. . ."realistic" almost. But with an outline! >_o
I really wasn't sure where to categorize this. It doesn't belong in the "Vector" section because well. . .it isn't. It may mimick the style but it's a definite raster. T.T

Kinda easy, evry artist has a bit fame. If you draw very well, i hope my drawwings end up good like yours though. there is more too come in my gallery but colloring takes more time out of me dan sketching and at details wit pencil.

I think there are so many things i could point out and say...'thats amazing' i could definately go on and on about how this piece is so well thought out and constructed....it's amazing how it is very simple...but it's amazing....it's something i don't think i could ever do....it takes true creative genius...

You tried something new and already you are doing great!
The way the wave forms a tiara on her head is captivating, and after settling on that my eyes move along the piece quite easily. You get extra points for how well your viewer's eyes must flow through this.
The hair is wispy, wonderful, and cleanly formed. Her accentuated eyes also fall under crisp beauty.
To get down to the nitty-gritty, I would have to say that the waves are beautiful, but they seem a bit "off". I think this might be because the waves seem too thin on the right side, or maybe that area does not roll enough... I really cannot put my finger on it. They seem to be reaching or strained in that portion. The bottom seems a bit spiky almost as if it is frozen.
But also, the area where the wave connects seamlessly to her face is nothing short of awesome. I cannot say how much I like that aspect.
The lips are bordering on blotchy maybe due to the intensity of the highlight, or the drop on the bottom left.
How her neck flows into the border of white keeps focus on the subject, and yet at the same time moves the eye along the work... I think that is why it is so pleasing to view.
Simplicity is hard. I'm astonished at how well you have done this, and how clear-cut the lettering is even with its size.

Oh no, no I totally get where you're coming from with the waves. When I was doing it, I found out that Japan style waves are so hard! O_O They may look easy but to get it to actually follow the same style is extremely difficult.

Wooow, this is so many different kinds of awesome!! I love the new style, it's so great to see that you're so open to trying new things~~ I love how everything in this picture just FITS. It's perfect. I love how the wave goes behind the face to create the illusion of a sort of head band, and how it contours the cheek perfectly. Really, the more I think abut it, I'm amazed! You must have spent a long time mapping this out, because it's just stunning. The subtle shading and color scheme just tops the image off. It's perfect!

Oh woah. This is just . . . wow. Very well done in such a simplistic but unique style. My favourite parts must be the lips and how the wave goes under her hair but still appears on her face. Particularly how the edge of her eye meets the edge of the wave exactly.
