I was away a little longer than planned, got stuck playing fallout 3 and 4 and of course the holidays. Back with my alternate universe otp.

Have some headcanon:
This happens right before she was forced into alicornhood. The crystal heart will allow you to see your potential in canon, so I suppose if Sombra was the one who crafted it, he could also use it.
In this universe Radiant Hope would be Radiant Despair, and instead of healing anything she can destroy anything. I guess you could see her as the Alicorn of sickness/fear, which would line up with how dark magic is explained normally in mlp.
The crystal heart forces her into her destiny, but since it is good, it only allows itself to be used for good. Which is the destruction of the crystal empire (which would be evil in the alternate universe). It will use up the crystal heart, and kill Radiant Despair or seal her forever.
Why does this work? Radiant Despair loves Sombra. I choose to not see love as good or evil. It can be both. It can heal and destroy. And right now, it will destroy.
