Description
This is a picture of what Keith's life could have been, had things turned out differently. Keith would have never left the secluded Fox village, instead living out his life with Laura in peaceful ignorance to the turmoil going on in the outside world. The Basitin people would have never again heard from their banished brother, and that would have suited Keith just fine.Related content

Yeah, bcuz if she didn't she'd pop up later somewhere in the comic and Keith's relationship with Natani would be ruined

Without Keith, Trace never would have discovered his powers so early and Keith would never had gotten the experience of being launched onto a tree.

It would be a trying experience, as Tom tried to make very clear through Keith. After reading the comic, this picture saddens, but comforts too.
Something occurred to me, however; without Keith, Flora and Trace may have been in a very different situation, and without Keith's help, a hazardous one. Plus the Basitins would have been nearly wiped out, and the Keidran-Human war may have escalated more quickly (again hinging on Flora and Trace without Keith). Who knows, maybe Keith would have been affected, in the end. But the question remains... would he have chosen this over what happened to him?

This picture reminds me an ending scene from Chrno Crusade anime. But in this anime you can see main characters in this scene _after_ they came through all the adventures and hell of storyline. That's why I read "It Could Have Been" as "It Could Have Been, if Laura wouldn't died due to internal bleeding". And thought this image tells us afterstory, epilogue - things, which happened after Trace's adventure finished. Even if it is alternative epilogue.
Fairly, I was surprised, why Trace haven't tried to save Laura's life with black magic, as he told (p. 586). I don't tell "saved", but "tried to save", because I don't know, what kind of power is called "black magic" in this realm.

Events around destruction of tower seems to be serious turnpoint for the whole story. This is the end of "childhood", end of "just funny and romantic", end of innocence...
Hope to see Laura again. Not resurrected, but in Keith's memories/flashbacks, for example, or as spirit, summoned by Neutral (like Saria)
