This is beautiful! I love the pattern on the wall! How do you make it so perfect and symetrical? If I tried something like that I would mess it up on my first brush stroke!

To answer your question, i basically just zoomed in really close and drew it with a hard edged paint brush. And then i used a bit of a short cut in photoshop. Once i had drawn half of it i copy/pasted it, flipped the copy, and lined it up so that it made a half circle. Does that make sense? I am so bad at explaining things, hah. But yeah, that makes it bit easier to get symmetrical designs

I am in love with your stone textures and the cracks and details you put in. Ive tried for a very long time to manage cracks but cant do it. How do you do your rock and cracks?

Well, i don't have a tutorial for doing rock texture, maybe someday i could get one together. All i really do is look at cracks in rocks in real life and/or photos and just study them to see how the light falls on them. I usually use the media brushes (like sponges and chalk) in Painter to get a nice texture. Newer versions of photoshop also have good texture brushes that you could try out.

All of your artwork is quite impressive, but from a quick browse through your gallery this was the piece that stood out the most. I think this has to do with the composition. Most of your images feature a fairly static 'character standing in a not-too-extreme pose' composition but this one, this one is perfect. The character is in an interesting and well executed pose; the colours are gorgeous; the wall or whatever she's sitting on frames the image perfectly. And then you have the lights strung across the top -- finishing the circle and providing a nice sense of balance. The icing on the cake is the butterflies spirally back into the horizon just above the central light... stunning. The only criticisms are that the lights and the wall lack depth. That's it, really. Very nice work.

it's stunningly beautiful! i love cool, soft hues like this! The lanterns are very sweet with their soft light and are perfect in this composition. The fairy's pose is so graceful and languid. And the details in her face, hair and dress are excellent.
