I love the heart. I was just wondering how you got the gears and bits attached to it.

I use two-component adhesive: works fine if you have to fix something that's sensitive to heat and there's no heavy pull on it.

Brilliant design. I'm not sure how "steampunk" it is instead of just conceptual, but I suppose it could go both ways because of its relative simplicity.

Fabulous work! I featured your piece in my article Jewelry Feature: Have a Heart, be my Valentine as a part of the holiday round-up by the #Jewelry-Makers-Guild .

I really like the contrast between the silver and the gears.

Thanks a lot!
Not yet, my opportunities for goldsmithing are rare and the pieces would be pretty expensive as I have to pay the workshop and the prices for sterling silver continue increasing... We will see if I can manage to sell them on etsy somewhen in the near future

Ah. I understand completely. Make sure you make an announcement if you are ever able to sell them because I want one!

This is really strange, I commented on this piece and was going to write another comment but now my first one disappeared...
Anyway, I'm quite amazed, just recently I've decided to make a better steampunk heart (better in my opinion of course) but was stuck in the design process... and here I see this awesome piece!

Excellent work, I was going to ask whether you formed the heart but then went to the link and saw that you have, you have some skills, I was sure it was a stamping at first!

Sometimes DA buggs, I don't know why...

Oh yes, I know that feeling when you're lacking the final idea for your design - there are a lot of unfinished sketches in my book... Now I'm curious, let me know when you're finished!

That would have been a LOT easier. The rest didn't take a long time, but getting it convex.... grrrr!
Thanks for visiting!

I've made this mock-up and got stuck at this point, but I wasn't too happy with it anyway.. [link]

I can imagine! I didn't really look into what the project is about, is it a showcase of your own work or can other people join? I mean, the site that you link to.

Making mock-ups sounds like a good idea...

It's a project I'm doing with two friends of mine, Cal-Bird and friedology (aka sD). There's a new topic every month (if we're pretty fast sometimes two) and each one of us creates something that fits the topic, no matter what kind of art it is. Actually no one else can join as it's important to us to have the possibility to meet in real life, but we recently thought about doing some kind of "guest posts" with works of other artists if there are any who would like to join.

Well, I have to, because I can't sketch at all

That sounds like an interesting idea! I'm going to check it out in more detail.
