Description
A piece of art I did for my novel "The Island of Mermaids." These are the two main characters, Madeline and Sai. This novel is finished, I just have to figure out how to publish it. I am not really good at that sort of thing, especially trying to go the self-pulishing route if I can't get any takers.Summary: After the sudden death of her estranged father, Madeline is bequeathed a beach house on the island of St. Croix. There she meets up with Sai, an old friend she used to play with as a kid when her family used to vacation there. Though... she didn't quite remember the fact that he had a tail. She also was not aware the island had a rich culture of mermaid lore. All mermaid stories seem to end in blood and death. And the locals seem to know more about the truth to these tales than they are letting on.

actually there are a few websites you could look into for posting the story yourself. and theres places online you can look up pulishing actual books for yourself without going through the whole, 'we wont publish it cause we dont think it will sell' thing. just keep in mind if you do manage to publish to sell you should start out small based on how many people you think will read it and how much you've 'leaked' in order to catch interest.
this way if you can give away copies if you wish. like family, freinds, a raffle, just an idea.

I'm really proud of it. I think it turned out well. Though I might try to squeeze in one more round of editing first. I hope to have it in book format around February.

Madeline's pose must have taken ages to get right, especially the legs and her hair flaring up in the water. Β The transition is seamless between dolphin tail and human body for Sai as well.

I finished my project, yeah.Β The word choice of "making" has to do kind of with the fact that it involved more than just writing because I had to make a lot of other stuff for it too--it's a visual novel, so art and programming/scripting is involved.Β So it feels more accurate to say I "made" a story than I "wrote" a story. I'm just often hesitant to announce how big a dork I am for making quasi-dating-sims for some reason, so instead I'm annoying and vagueΒ

It's actually already out (and actually older already than I thought it was, but I guess October just flew by when I wasn't looking.Β Ah well, still feels fresh in my memory because I continue to be haunted by the characters, so that must be why it feels so recent XD).Β Fair warning, my art ain't great and my writing is only okay, but I had a lot of fun anyways.

try a site called Line Webtoon. there are tons of comics with various genre. however, its a free site so the readers can read them for free but there is an option that you could use patreon. you do ask you wish with the info and i wish you luck on publishing it ^^
