I mean, come on. Being able to see into the future really messes with your mind. Be happy he's still sane and just majorly depressed.
Although wise beyond his years, Rasiel has made the mistake of looking into his own future. And it haunts him deeply, strongly affecting how he reveals what he sees in the futures of others.


History: 
Rasiel has had a troubled past. Born the runt of the litter, few in Reed clan thought he would survive his first year. In fact, for the first year he barely moved, talked, or interacted with his environment. It was more than once that fellow Reed Clan members thought he was dead. Fortunately, his mother was extremely protective of him, sacrificing giving birth to a new litter in order to care for Rasiel. 

There was one of his litter that was giving him more trouble than most: his oldest brother, a big, healthy kit with slightly carnivorous habits. A stark contrast to Rasiel.

Rasiel overcame his first year, but he soon started to face new challenges. While his physical skills were taking their time to develop, his magical ones were bursting at the ready. Until his third year, Rasiel was plagued with headaches, struggling to get a wink of sleep. Already considered a burden to the clan due to his size and general weakness, Rasiel was too scared to ask for help – what if he was sacrificed to the eagles? Instead, he found his own solution: to get the bare minimum amount of sleep, and preferably with the smallest amount of clanmates. No one knew, and Rasiel kept living.

It wasn't until Rasiel was 4 that he, and an overly nosey elder, finally figured out what it was that Rasiel was experiencing: Foresight magic. Under the Elder's guidance, Rasiel began to learn how to harness this strain of magic, and how to control it. Rasiel completed his training as a sentry, and combined with his newfound foresight magic, he made for a surprisingly decent contributor to the clan.

But, the improved foresight magic came with a heavy cost. Too heavy, in Rasiel's opinion. So many times, he could foresee a kit's, a queen's, a tom's death and do nothing about it. Either because he was too late, or because his clanmates didn't believe him. And even if he was able to stop it from happening, the images would never leave his mind.

After many seasons, fellow Nombekos now believe Rasiel whenever he gives a warning; and since they've started listening, Reed Clan has seen a sharp decline in the number of accidental deaths and an increase in successful hunts. But this isn't enough for Rasiel. He has a gift he knows he could use for the better of all Nombekos. With a little bit more practice and a little bit more power within the warren, they could achieve so much.

Autumn 2001: Rasiel becomes Reed Clan Patriarch, replacing Gowon (NPC).

Winter 2001: Rasiel takes over from Duskfeather (NPC) as Nombeko Overseer!
