Description Im actually really proud of this one.
I really like the books, a lot. The most. But i own all the movies as well

Right now im getting myself all hiked up for the next Harry Potter movie comeing out in theatres so i have been lurking a lot of Harry Potter fan art on Deviant Art and decided to make my own little HP FanArt.

And i really wanted to paint something greyscale. I know my painting skills arn't up to par and i need practice. In class, Terry has tought us to paint in grey scale. So i decided i would do my next portrait in greyscale.

So with those two bits of motivation i decided to do a greyscale image of harry potter. At first i was just doing it more for practice but as i continued i found that i really enjoyed it a lot. I put more and more effort into this.

I know not everyone is a Harry Potter fan, but thats not the point. The point is the portrait and the time i put into makeing something that i was proud of and useing the skills i have trained myself to have to better myself as an artist. and in that regard i am really proud of how this tourned out. i like it a lot personally. But i know i am always in need of improvement.
So anyone who has any feedback that they can share with me im all ears so long as they remember to keep it constructive and not rude.

I hope you all enjoy ^_^

HP fan art! Woo hoo! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)" /> It doesn't look *exactly* like Radcliff, but it looks like Harry Potter...which is important! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/x/x… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title="XD" /> Those eyes are awesome...very realistic. I love the shading, too.

Something I noticed...his hair. The highlight there looks off--I think it's too stark and stringy, so it makes him look as if he's getting a gray or white streak. Especially that little light wisp in the middle-ish top. That one looks out of place, as if the light source shouldn't even be hitting it except a little bit.

His shoulders also look very narrow...even for a younger boy. It looks as if they could be a bit broader, especially compared to the width of his neck.

I really like and textures...the skin texture, the shirt, and especially the glasses...it never ceases to amaze me when people can render a metallic texture realistically. It also seems that the glass part of the glasses could use some shine...it looks like they're only rims.

Anyway...I can't wait for HBP either. :gri: Hope I have been of some help!

thanks the both of you.
I agree, when i look at this i do see that its not picture to picture same. I still definitally need practice.
Thank you for commenting about the hair, i tried a way of doing the hair that was slightly different than usual and i am going to need more practice with the highlights for sure.
And when i read your comment about his glasses i looked at it again and now i notice that the left side from my point of view is very "silver" and the other side is more dark. it bugs me now

I really thank you for the constructive comment and appreciate that you are trying to help me become a better artist and for that i am grateful. im going to attempt to fix my mistakes and hope that i can improve this ^_^

I agree with Hyenacub about this being a really good Harry Potter - he has something different from Dan R, something maybe more childish and innocent - and it suits him.

Glasses are so difficult to draw properly ! One could think it's easy - but it's not....

And congratulation too for the messy hair - really in character too - shortly - thank you for this Harry, and yes, of course I am waiting for the movie too

It's so lifelike! Before I looked at the bottom at the picture I thought it was a photograph! I never knew this sort of thing was capable with paints! Then again, this is coming from a (sometimes) graphite drawer and (mostly) a writer.

I adore Harry Potter so much! Wonderful job, really and I look forward to all sorts of paintings form you in the future!

lol thats awsome. Im afraid im going in my natural clothes that i wear every day. though i'll admit i wouldnt mind a scarf. May i ask what house your scarves will belong to?
and nice VIP seats. I always prefer not all the way in the back and directly in the middle ^_^

I think Dave and I are rocking Slytherin. I don't mind the others.... except Hufflepuff. But i think i 'd do good with Slytherin even though i used to be crazy about Griffindor. Were ordering House sweaters, scarves and ties and a wand off this official site. The wands are real crafted wood too like used in the movies . I thought about bringing smoke bombs to the premiere and acting like i was casting spells to make me disappear but Dave says we'd get kicked out easy u.u.I absolutely can't wait to dress up like Hogwarts students. In VIP theres less seats but there sweet and leather and stuff and i usually sit in the same area you do. I can't stand the back.
