Catwoman
Poor, poor Selina Kyle. She was a lowly secretary at Oscorp who all her life wanted to not only marry her childhood sweetheart but have a child of her own. But even though she had her childhood sweetheart it was not enough to ease the pain of finding out she was unable to have children. It pretty much crushed her inside, so much so that a brief moment of insanity soon gripped her so tightly it drove her to break into Oscorp Tech labs. A while back she accidently come across files detailing a still experimental drug that would use the genetic material of animals to regenerate parts of the human body, in her small fit of madness she went so far to get it, even killing the guards in her path. She had succeeded in getting her hands on it....

....having ingested it in it's raw, unrefined form, the drug pretty much turned her into an anthropomorphic cat. Among her drastic genetic mutations was her ability to reproduce asexually, spawning as many anthropomorphic cubs as she saw fit. But much like her newfound body her life had changed drastically, now a stray cat leaving behind all she ever was...including her sweetheart. But it ain't so bad, not when there is the Batman. Of all the countless things in the world for her to now take for herself, this man dressed up as a bat just seemed to be the most delicious forbidden fruit she has ever layed her eyes on. He was more than just a man, he was something else, able to keep up with her and and even trump her efforts. Above all else, claiming this Batman as her own is now her highest priority. Interestingly enough her obsession with him has made her a part-time ally on a few occassions, but in the end she is a thief and a part time mercenary for the underground, since she is now a metahuman she can't exactly make an honest buck to feed her children.
-So yeah, I just made her a straight up nekomimi. Those goggles are really the only gadget she actually uses, period (for infrared vision, it also has a data scanning computer built in). Her signature whip (not shown) is now not one but two serpentine whip-like tentacles concealed in her arms, completely retractable and about twenty five feet in length, they come out through the wrists. The mutation has very much affected her mindset, exhibiting heavy cat like behavior and a rathe scandalist attitude. Her very career as a thief is heavily influenced by her cat-like nature.

The Penguin
Oswald Copplepot, a wealthy business men and modern day Ebenezer Scrooge who's company was about to merge with Oscorp resulting in a rather large income increase to his own pocket. But it seems his company had connections to the underground though that was not really a big problem....the problem was Batman who found substantial evidence to get an extensive investigation underway. This led to Oscorp pulling out of the merger deal not wanting to be seen associating with Copplepot's company that was now on the spot. Even though he didn't lose his company or his fortune, he still lost an opportunity to aquire even more wealth, and if there is one thing he hates more than anything it's losing money. So what does he do? He.....creates a villainous counterpart persona to Batman known as the Penguin, boasting his own array of gadgets and weaponry, doning this persona in the pursuit of twarting Batman's crusade for justice in any way possible (typically by getting in his way or even helping the ones the Dark Knight is currently after). Of course this is Batman we're talking about, the Penguin hasn't exactly been entirely successful in this endevor..........this only serves to piss him off even more about the Dark Knight.
-So I pretty much turned him into a somewhat evil counterpart of Batman, or more to the point a deliberate satire of the Dark Knight, I did this in an atempt to make him a more interesting rendition. Outside the Tim Burton sequel I never really found the Penguin to be an actual freak let alone one associated with the likes of the Joker or Two-Face. Outside of a taste for the dramatic and a love of birds he isn't even demented or insane, hell I don't even recall him being in Arkham during the animated series (it's been a while I guess but still). So really, he's not the kind of foe that Batman is known for (besides being yet another little bastard commiting crimes in Gotham).

Poison Ivy
The sultry Venus that is Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley is one of the most brilliant genetics scientis and botanist who was one of the top minds of Lexcorp's genetic research devision. But as it turns out, she was a bit of an enviromental extremist and had a taste for mad science, she was also bold enough to test her own unique DNA fusion technology on herself. Reconfiguring her entire body into a half-plant hybrid she became the Maverick eco-terrorist known as Poison Ivy, she disappeared into the depths of Gotham to further her own research into her dream project "Gaea". Since her arrival many children had been disappearing from the streets, and as it turned out she was taking them in as her own hoping to make them all hybrids just like her, hoping to create a new race of humans more a part of the Earth. Of course the technology behind it is not perfect and other than Poison Ivy herself many of the subjects transformed have died from it soon after....
-I was quite impressed with her design for the upcoming Arkham Asylum game [link] , as far as illuminating that design in my own rendition, well, results may vary (as always). Aside from that, well, she's now a full on metahuman Maverick who is not only imune to poisons and toxins but can mutate any part of her body into a different plant-like form, she can of course regenerate. Of course being the exceptionally powerful metahuman she is, she is quite vulnerable to cold, fire and one particular tool in Batman's arsenal, the Bat Locker [link] (in fact if I get into this in my literary work the Bat-Locker would be a running gag when it comes to Ivy^-^).

The Mad Hatter
The young Jervis Tetch, yet another genius who ended up going rogue (I'm sensing a bit of a patttern here XD). His deal was his stalker obsession with Alice Pleasance, a famous pop star who he got to meet after winning a contest that won him a one-night date (of which she gave him a rather tender kiss). Since then she has been his whole world, an infatuation that over the next year turned to full on obsession. When it turns out she was now going out with fellow pop idol Billy Raines, well he wasn't taking that so well. Then he got to witness the Joker in person, the mad clown actually inspiring the young genius to done a costume and using his own neural flux mind control tech to try and hypnotize Alice into his girlfriend forever. It didn't end well in his favor, and after spending some time in Arkham would be known since then as the criminal Mad Hatter.
-Aside from making him what I think is an evil L, I gave him a robot sidekick which is actually the very mind-control device he uses to brainwash people.

Killer Croc
A Cajun Mutant and former aquaintance of the mercenary Gambit, but when it turns out that Croc is a closet cannibal who's been eating the humans hes been killing Gambit tried to put an end to their partnership. But Croc was not having any of that, he didn't like to be bailed on too much. Then Batman showed up following the trail of their last job for the Brotherhood of Mutants, and one way or another Croc ends up in Arkham. He's had a grudge against the Dark Knight ever since.
-I must admit, when doing this rendition I had King Gator in mind (from All Dogs go to Heaven), I wonder what it would be like if Croc was voiced by Ken Page. Not much else to say about this one really.

Clayface
Famed actor Matt Hagen, the victim of a major car accident that had destroyed his signature face, leaving it a disfigured mess. He is a closet otaku with a thing for little girls (lolicon). For the demented otaku in him it was rather a dream come true for him to meet former child actress and Hypopituirtarism victim Mary Dahl, his new assistant and gig manager. The two are quite a match, both having some rather complex mental issues they found it easy to hook up. Of course this didn't sit too well for his shallow ex girlfriend who decided to get back at him for hooking up with a "child". The bitch actually being responsible for the accident that claimed his face, she was later arrested for attempted vehicular manslaughter......in the end the face known world wide was lost. Desperate to help him, Mary actually turned to a shady corperation run by Roland Daggett who was developing a new compound called "RenuYou". The compound restored his face, allowing him to continue his acting career, but it turned out to have side effects rendering him an addict to the stuff. This ultimately lead to him doing a few jobs for Daggett, but one such job was botched up by Batman's appearance. Infuriated with Matt's failure, Daggett had his men terminate him, they decided to give him an overdose of the compound believing it to be a fitting punishment (they also believed it would kill him). But you see, the compound contained a particularly dangerous mutagen that gave it its properties...and instead it mutated him into an abomination. No one knows where either Matt or Mary are at this time, both having dropped off the map.
-I wasn't actually gonna do a rendition of Clayface, I mean how can you actually redesign what is basically a shapeless blob that can take on any form it chooses at will? But fuck it, here he is.

Wait, so when you were designing your take on Killer Croc, you were thinking of King Gator from the "Big Lipped Alligator Moment"Β in All Dogs Go to Heaven?

I love these new renditions of comic book heroes and villains of yours. I especially like the vast change in Catwoman and the Penguin, the latter who in regular D.C continuity is probably my least favorite of all comic book villains. You gonna do renditions of Marvel Heroes too?

What are the Mavericks, and what are their most infamous members? Where did they all come from?

Basically, metahumans (or even humans) who use all their abilities and powers for either their own self centered gain or for direct terrorist attacks, resulting in the endangerment and possible loss of life.

Yes, I understand that now. But could you give me just a general list of the most famous Mavericks found in the Tyrranux, please?

Jervis is drop-dead cute (he should be wearing the 'Cute but Psycho' t-shirt, hehe)
Catwoman is creeeepy.
It's cool to see how they would work in the Marvel Universe.

It is interesting that you use Penguin to parody Batman since Penguin himself is described as a master criminal strategist who only has mutations in Batman Returns (as you yourself noted) and the 2004 Batman series which was influced by the former.

As usual, you astound me.

Dr. Hugo Strange, eat your heart out.

I'm actually surprised you did a redefinition of Poison Ivy, she looks good.

Of course, my favorite of them all is Catwoman, she looks great.

I'm curious though, where did you get the idea for the Mad Hatter's redefinition?

Because, if I remember correctly, it wasn't just one Alice he was obsessed with, it was any blonde hair blue eyed girl in general.

The descriptions aren't as detailed as the first one you made, but still good.

Well I was mostly drawing from the Animated Series for Hatter. I was just gonna have him be a genius who just gets inspired to be a psycho villain and that was it, not exactly inspiring.

Cupidcomet77 In reply to Tyrranux [2009-07-28 14:09:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and you didn't even mention Alice in Wonderland.

If I made a description, it would be more like this.

"Here we have a man that has fallen too far down the rabbit hole. Young genius Jervis Tetch was an avid of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and his works of literature. Almost every part of his life seemed to fit in with the motif of Alice in Wonderland. But, Jervis knew the difference between the works of literature and reality. Or so he thought, before he won a date with famed pop music sensation Alice Pleasence. The night had been magical to Jervis, ending in a story book fashion. Since then, Jervis has been far too obsessed with his idol and favorite story. Over time, his obsession with both Wonderland and "his Alice" has reached unhealthy levels, causing him to believe that he really lived in Wonderland. When he heard that "his Alice" has fallen for Hip Hop sensation Billy "The Lizard" Raines, his perception of reality shattered, again. It was then that he has witnessed the raw, unhinged madness that was Joker, in the flesh. To Jervis, Joker was his "Cheshire Cat", his guardian through the insanity that was developing in his own mind. With his sanity officially gone, Jervis's obsession also played a key factor with his intellect, inventing his own "White Rabbit", a mind control system guarenteed to erase and control anybody caught in it's sights. Sadly, Jervis's attempt to grasp a unreturned love ended with the loss of the music world's purest light, and the incarceration of the newly dubbed "Mad Hatter". Now, all Jervis Tetch can do is wait, wait until he finds his own looking glass, and wait for another "Alice"."

You like?
