Description
First up in the series of Monster Hunter drawings is the flagship mascot of the entire series, the fire wyvern, Rathalos. Anyone that's played the series is familiar with this guy. Capable of incredibly aggressive assaults from the ground and air, tangling with 'Los usually means you're on fire or poisoned or both. The later games added some more powerful subspecies with new attacks like Azure Rathalos. Even higher on the tier of difficulty is the Silver Rathalos, a foe that has a full arsenal of fire breath and flying attacks. I've always liked the designs of the wyverns in Monster Hunter and the Raths remain iconic throughout the installments. For these drawings, I tried to keep it simple while following the styles and color schemes of each subject. I re-drew the pose for Silver to represent its position at the top of the family order. I think I'll adopt this as a practice going forward to keep things from getting monotonous.
