The surface was soft, but the pair struck it hard. They slid and rolled down the slope, praying their fall would end soon in one way or another. And stop it did, fortunately in the best possible way, for this new material had enough grab to overcome the rest of their velocity. They skid to the very tip of the outcropping, where they were lucky enough to not have their forced descent continue a single foot further.
"Heck of a ride, eh Wilan? I told you it'd be fun."
He didn't respond. Instead, he watched in silent horror as the giant's eyes focused in on them.
