I’ve posted this guy before and he was made maybe 2 years ago. He was original a creation of mine for a contest in reimagining a superhero from a list of public domain characters. I chose Max Adam and vastly reinvented him in appearance. So much so that he looks hardly anything like the public domain character. I really like how he looks and want to have him as my own character instead. So now he is my original character called Atomic. Just going to pretend I never associated him with Max Adam as he looks quite different enough to be my own character.

His bio is rather rushed, but I couldn’t come up with a very good one. The whole extremely powerful characters who control parts of reality and matter is getting to be a pattern of mine. Need to make some more basic characters. However, I really wanted to post Atomic so I could share his villain who I think looks really cool.

Skills:
-Genius level IQ. Intuitive. Cognizant. Smart.
-Adaptive and remarkably innovative. Vastly creative.

-Quick thinker and quick to act.
-Decent fighter, though he relies more on strategic methods in his combat rather than being up close and personal.

Powers/Abilities:
-Super strength, speed, stamina, durability, awareness and senses.
-Can manipulate matter and take air or surrounding matter of any form to create new forms of matter to use for his advantage.
-His suit was created by using his powers and surrounding matter and material. Can add to his suit and manipulate different parts of it and create weapons or tools from it, then absorbs them back into his suit.
-Can change the properties of objects with enough concentration and power (density/weight).
-While capable of lifting over a ton, he can lift or crush things by manipulating their density by touch with enough concentration. It is exhaustive however.
-Various other abilities through concentration and manipulating matter/physics such as flight and speed. Changes in density, frequency/vibration allow him to phase through material, though it takes effort.
-Can create plasmatic energy beams by charging up his suit.
-Near invulnerable when conscious Manipulates bodily and surrounding atoms/matter constantly to heal himself, sustain himself, and provide sustenance.
-“Going Nuclear”. This is his ultimate form. Splitting of an atom. He is able to concentrate the explosive energy into his suit, and localize the energy into his fists for powerful punches or beams. He can explode himself and the suit contains the radiation to heal himself. Can create a nuclear explosion and then piece himself back together over time. Dangerous move.
-Can create another self. Can duplicate into weaker versions of himself and control them with effort, which is extremely hard. His first time trying to test his powers, he creates another “self” by accident. Too weak and not understanding his powers at the time, he isn’t able to absorb all of his duplicate back, leaving a small trace of atoms floating behind unknowingly. This duplicate slowly rebuilds himself and becomes a villain (I’ll be posting him next).

Bio:
Nico was one of the lab techs at the prestigious lab that Zayn Bishop’s (see my Fury character) class came to visit for a field trip. When the lab began to malfunction and begin to shutdown, Nico stayed behind to attempt to stop the large Particle Collider that was over juiced from the whole facility’s massive power surge. When the explosion happened, the one that altered Zayn, everyone thought only Zayn was inside to attempt to force the lockdown of the lab. The explosion and burst of energy that changed Zayn also caused Nico to experience an alteration. Nico was too close and deep into the Collider when it reached its overpowered energy limit and exploded. The wave of energy from Zayn’s transform flung Nico into the Collider. The mix of energy and power of the Collider consumed Nico, tearing him apart at the atomic level. He was vaporized, at least so was thought. Nico was still alive and altered like Zayn, but scattered in an incorporeal form.

It took months for Nico to reassemble himself, but he was eventually capable of fully restoring himself. He didn’t know how or why he was capable of this, or, even alive for that matter. Nico went into isolation in order to figure out his new state of existence and not be a danger. It took a year for Nico to get a grip on how to control his new found abilities. He realized he could control atoms, the foundation of matter.

Overtime, Nico adapted and learned quickly, slowly becoming an expert at his powers. He was gifted with intelligence and a creative mind, which allowed Nico to expand his abilities in innovative and intuitive ways. His background and experience with working with atoms gave him an edge in understanding how they worked, how to “use” them, and how to manipulate them. He decided to come back to society, but first as a superhero, as he felt his powers were given to him for a purpose. Nico saw how powerful he was and saw it as a civil duty to use his powers for the good of humanity. Using his matter manipulation abilities, he absorbed the atoms and matter around him to forge a suit of armor for his new found superhero persona, Atomic.

Nico’s suit is remarkably powerful and capable of absorbing damage, much like Zayn is able to, but not nearly as advanced. The suit can help keep Nico in control of his corporeal form and aid in storing energy. The suit helps concentrate and localize Nico’s powers to where he needs to focus them. Nico’s suit also regulates the vast amount of power within Nico. Since the suit is made almost literally out of thin air from surrounding matter, it is concealed tight over Nico’s body, only capable of being removed by Nico’s control. He simply absorbs it back into his body, which makes his suit a near organic like metal armor, one that is always evolving.

Nico was able to make a name for himself as an iconic hero and loved by his city as superhero. While an eventual seasoned hero, there were powers of his he still did not have a grip on and powers too powerful to use. As much as he looks to better society, he also has to continually manage his existence. The level of power and the amount of capabilities Nico’s powers have has yet to be determined.

Nico is a personification of matter itself and wielder of the energy of the Universe at the palm of his hand. Though with Nico’s humility, sense of responsibility, and discipline, these powers couldn’t be in more responsible hands.
