A cruel alicorn's thesis...I don't like Neon Genesis Evangelion's plot or metaphysical abstraction, but I do admit that the robot designs are really radical.
And Fluttershy and Shinji both cry a lot.
This print WILL be available at Equestria LA, Everfree Northwest, and Bronycon, so you can all get one! (The EVA has some Fluttershy colors on it btw).

Now, it's been /years/ since I sat through the series, but I'm pretty sure I've seen more depressing shows. The old Berserk anime (really good dubbing in it) and Fate / Zero have depressing ends. Madoka Magica has some dark subject matter and the ending isn't exactly the happiest I've ever seen.
There's not a whole lot I've seen that can compare to it, though.
