Great looking but not very reliable, due to Triumph's stupid decision to mate two Triumph Dolomite engines together.

Thanks, and I have heard about this, maybe one of the many reasons for the down going of British car builders.

Yep. The Triumph name still goes on with Triumph Motorcycles but that's a completely different company. Oh man, those bikes doe... They look sooo sexy...

I like them, not very much to see in Germany but I saw a lot on my holidays in GB

Of course, Triumph's British! They're from Britain!

What I want to tell you, is that I wouldn't know Triumph if I wouldn't travel to Britain. Not very much run outside UK

My uncle had one when I was a kid - always sorta lusted after one, though I was sobered a bit by an article in a British sports car magazine in the 80's where a Stag owner wrote "I think it worked properly one Tuesday".
(In Australia the Triumph crown for unreliability is usually awarded to the Dolomite sprint)

I've heard that it wasn't well done, specially the engine. But as a kid I like the shape very much

A boss I had in/at hughes helicopters had one of these... He pulled the engine out put a 327 chevy eng in,,, bolts right up,, no firewall reconstruction required...... His Jag was all Chevrolet running gear, except for the rear gears. The trans was the "Rock Crusher" 4 spd.

Pretty much emblematic of everything wrong with British Leyland. Instead of using the excellent Rover V8, Triumph insisted on using an engine based off the Herald's, which turned out to be junk. Why? Because Rover and Triumph were bitter rivals before being absorbed into British Leyland. Pretty colour, tho.
