This guy hatched in the car. Yes, I brought my cocoons with me on vacation. Most people think I'm a bit odd for being so fanatical... but, oh well. He was enjoyed by all my nieces and nephews. I guess I love the oohs and aahs and wows from all the kids. Most who've never seen or even knew such a creature existed. He's the largest of the North American Silk moths with a wingspan of nearly six inches... sometimes even more.Related content

Hey, while I was on vacation in Wisconsin, I found a poor little guy that'd been basically ripped apart (wingswise) and have him with me. If I posted a pic in my scraps and gave you the link, do you think you could tell me what kind he is? He had that striped body thing going on... (or she, I suppose.)

Yep. I desaturate backgrounds on occassion. The background colors on the inside of the car were too distracting and I preferred complete focus on my subject.
