This is a scene I've had in my mind for quite some time now. (It's just a coincidence I got it finished on my birthday, lol!)Anyways it looks pretty different from most of my work because I got rid of as many lines as possible in an attempt to be... Cool? It looks like garbage so I'm not going to do it this way again, but it's decent enough to post.
In retrospect I should've done all the panels like the last one. which I really like.
This is supposed to be taking place on the Citadel. Kaidan's still moping the fuck around because Shepard is "dead." (He doesn't know she's been revived by Cerberus yet.) Arix, an OC turian I made up as a PLOT DEVICE, is fed up with his shit.
It's really weird drawing Kaidan being all UUNNGGHH WRISTCUT, but I'm guessing that's what he was like for a long time. His letter kind of sounds like it/alludes to it.
Inspired by the letter Shepard receives after that planet mission thing.

Arix was born on Earth, child to one of not many turian inhabitants due to the racial tensions still overhanging from the first contact wars.
Arix has a skin condition known colloquially as 'skincrest,' this is why the 'follicles' for his crest are clearly visible behind the large first plate. It isn't harmful but it is pretty fugly to female turians. He is very sensitive about it.
Arix met Mirra when he left Earth in adolescence to learn more about his people. Mirra was part of the turian military, and with her encouragement, he enlisted. Mirra was killed in action just a day or so before the Normandy SR1 went down, in an unrelated incident.
After the Normandy went down several turian units were stationed on the Citadel, where Kaidan found himself spending most of his unoccupied time. The two had common ground and became fast friends.

sad story, i'm suprised it wasn't as hard for arix considering he had a hard child hood and mirra was probobly his first true love. as for kaidin well he's bout the same so i can agree to the part where you said they became fast friends. XD

Gah! I love the expression of the turian in panel 2 and Kaidan's in the last one. Turians are crap when I draw them(or attempt to) so kudos for you! Love the comic.

Funny story I guess, I actually really hate with a violent passion how I drew Arix in this page. It looks like a picture of a turian was printed on chewed bubblegum and then I pulled it around a little and chewed it up some more and went THAT'LL DO, TURIAN, THAT'LL DO.
I much prefer my 'performance' in subsequent pages.
I do like the last panel myself, I really tried for the sheepish ragecry there!

I live in Britain, everybody tends to drown everything in alcohol for little or no reason, so a big reason seems to clinch it.
(I'm kind of a non-drinker myself.) BLAME THE BRITISH.
I was planning on explaining that he'd been wasted the week up to the birthday and the day itself, but, I figured too much unnecessary information and just to go with it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Kaidan spent those two years all pent up like this. Only played as male Shep though, still didn't stop him from being a moaning brat when I met him again.
