Description
This was done back in '07 as a spread for the IFS Prime artbook. Figured I'd upload this compilation image instead of numerous standalone concept sheets cause people have been asking to see my old concept design work for mods, like Nuclear Dawn and Project Hull Breach.I'd like to share that Interwave Studios picked up the Nuclear Dawn rights some time back and are releasing a commercial version of the property! The individual shots aren't exactly very high res.. so if u download the image here and view it at that resolution you'll realise there isn't 'greater' level of detail actually. They were done just to give an idea to the modeller for the direction of the armour design, the actual final textures and detail finessing were the work of the texture department

if its a bother for you than its fine, i just don't like looking at it diagonally, hmmm do i have your permission to turn it sideways in photoshop? nah that would look terrible

yeah but some of art is cut, thats what was bugging me to the max, making me anxious for some reason sounds like a OCD of something, anyway shall we drop the subject? im sure your getting annoyed and if you don't wanna post them individually ill have to get over it
each one inspires me differently on certain ideas i have, but when i go in for a closer look to study it in detail (how your coloring it, and certain armor parts) its just the diagonal...ness throws me off or a helmet or arm is cut off, and it all really is a lot to take in that some things can be over looked..ah ranting sorry

These images are rather breathtaking and inspiring. Would it be too much to request that you actually do post a ton of stand alone images, or are you bound by legal stipulation not to do so? It would be most educational and awesome I feel if you were to share the stand alone images of each of these designs, as well as to give some explanation as to the functionality of each suit of armor, et cetera.
The designs are gorgeous, the weapons and tech is remarkable...It feels like torture not to see these in more detail.
This sort of work is simply better than Christmas morning! You must have felt immense rewards for your accumulated momentum as a visual artist, studying the foundations and the basics until something like this just comes together, and you may enjoy your 'professional' rating without mistake that it is well deserved.

Just to share--I actually had little foundation and basics when 'all this came together', this stuff was made about 6-7 years ago. Most of it was achieved with semi-educated guesswork and fuzzy logic. I'm spending more time now on revisiting those missing links in my foundation and I must admit, the rewarding feeling has only started to come in. Knowing you can achieve something consciously and with consistency is really something else altogether.

I still draw Bugas on pretty much everything I create! You can find a Buga on all the desks in my school
Speaking of which, some guy at school saw this image as my wallpaper and he immediately recognized it!
He told me that he knows you and that you give him personal art classes or something hehe.

I simply have no words, it predates so much popular work, yet I feel like everything I'm playing pulls from your concepts, lol. I know it would be a pain to upload and you have explained why this was better than piece by piece, but is there any where you can please tell us to find the concept pages for this work?

High praise! But I must say a lot of my work pulls from even more amazing work that predates this generation. I love the 80's. I'm sure if you check out the cult anime, games and film that come from that era you can see where my aesthethic preferences lie.
And no, the individual concept pages of this work don't exist online and are buried somewhere in an old harddrive
