Wow, this is a great portrait of Iwasaki-san! You've done her justice. ^^

Actually it's the 1970s Maiko, Mineko Iwasaki.
This is from her book cover "Geisha :A Life" the true story that the fiction "memoirs of a geisha" is loosely based off of.
very nice I love how you left the delicate leaves in her hiki kimono

You did the makeup line. That's perfect. You remembered it, like so many others forget. Thank you.

Yes. I'm reading through 'Memoirs of a Geisha', and that was a very strict point it made about the face and neck.

Memoirs is a fun read, not accurate but fun.

I know exactly what it feels like to not have a scanner and even though there is a slight glare from the flash this is still one of the most stunning pieces I have ever seen. You are also an amazing photographer. I'd favorite you entire gallery, but that could get annoying.

You should probably list who you used as a reference...
Mineko Iwasaki.

I worked on it progressively for quite a while, a month or so. But it probably only took about 30 hrs total.

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. I bet you I saw it in the exhibit; it does seem a little familiar, but I'm probably just making that up. Anyway, this is my favorite in your gallery.
